Day 10 I apologize to anyone who missed reading my “daily” journal Friday and Saturday...I decided Friday would be my day to rest and sleep in before work. Saturday I will typically write my journal, however, I was up mighty early for my twirling kids’ baton competition. But you should know, that I just skipped reading and the journal; I still exercised! So here’s what I’ll tell you about today. Thursday, I had a dinner date with my friend, Rachel Shannon! Saturday, I got to see my mom and watch my girls twirl their hearts out on the competitive floor, including a brand new and well-performed show twirl! Today, I’ll be treating myself to a pedicure (but I picked two nails so the manicure will have to wait; sorry, mom and Tyler). Dinner with Rachel was so, so wonderful. We went to this place called the Continental Divide, which I had never heard of or been to because I lack culture. This is what friends are for! So Rachel suggested this place and I said let’s do it. We got the “Red Hot Blues” nachos, which were BOMB, especially with their milder hot sauce. Our food was also good, but our appetizer and conversations catching up were the star of the night. Thanks for a great night, Rachel! Saturday. WOW. My girls did AWESOME. So maybe I didn’t have anyone win Miss Snow Queen, but we surely had plenty of wins, accomplishments, and memories. Anna won a couple of solos, including a no-drop routine, and she performed a duet with her best friend that they self-choreographed. Alyssa, despite starting the day covered in syrup, had a few great routines, including a 1st place open solo, and a brand new, never performed for an audience in her life, phenomenal show twirl to a Maleficent song. It brought me to tears, babe. Corena won an x-strut and placed 2nd in her MSQ 3-part. Lila came close to catching her toss illusion multiple times, but did come home with a handful of 2nd places. Lily May felt down at the end of the day, but we thought back to this being her first contest last year, and what a difference! You’ll get there, babe; you’ve got your coach and your team behind you! Love you, girls! Hope everyone enjoys a relaxing Sunday!

Amy, you are an amazing coach and wonderful person. It's a parents dream to have such a mentor in their child's life. My daughter would not be where she is today without your guidance and support. This routine brought tears to both of her parents eyes. Love you!
